This folding lock has a solid construction made of hardened special steel and the 100 decibel alarm sound will attract attention from passers-by – all good reasons not to mess with the ABUS BORDO Granit 6500KA.

ABUS has once again made no compromises with the workmanship of their flagship folding lock, as is typical for the strongest model in the BORDO range. The 5.5 mm thick steel bars are connected with special rivets to protect against saw attacks and secured in a massive lock housing made of hardened steel. The ABUS XPlus precision disc cylinder also offers outstanding protection against manipulation attempts.

To prevent this from happening in the first place, the 3D Position Detection reliably detects shocks or movements and responds with a shrill alarm sound. Most thieves should already be on the run then. But you don’t have to worry about constant false alarms. Small shocks, e.g. caused by accidental jostling, are initially only acknowledged with a warning tone.

ABUS has also added other great features to the Granit 6500 KA. Rods and housing are coated with a soft plastic to protect against paint damage, and the optimised locking mechanism promises particularly smooth closing operations. Plus, the SH lock holder ensures that the lock is easy to transport on the bike and can be removed from the front. This makes it suitable for cramped frame geometries or e-bikes.
