MIPS AIR NODE:
When a head rotates quickly and comes to a sudden stop, the rotational acceleration may cause the brain tissue to experience high levels of strain. This stretching of the tissue caused by these motions may result in various types of brain injury. MIPS is designed with the intent to address rotational acceleration from impact.
The MIPS AIR NODE system is a low-friction layer laminated to the base of the comfort padding. It is connected to the energy-absorbing helmet lining with Velcro fasteners. In the event of oblique impacts, the ”nodes” are designed to release locally so that the padding can slide and the rotational movement of the head can be reduced. The Mips Air Node system ensures movement inside the helmet to reduce the rotational movement of the head in the event of an impact at a certain angle and thus reduce the risk of injury. The system remains fixed until movement is required, as it is only released on impact. The Mips Air Node padding can of course be removed, washed by hand and dried at room temperature.
EPS:
The inner shell is made of EPS (expanded polystyrene). EPS is the most efficient material for absorbing shock and impact energies. EPS is extremely lightweight and maintains its properties in a wide temperature range.
The purpose of the inner EPS shell is to prevent or reduce a rider’s head injuries in the event of a fall. The shell absorbs the impact energy and is thereby itself compressed or even destroyed (comparable to an airbag in a car). This is why you should always replace a bike helmet with a new one after an impact.
ARAMID:
The liner shell comes with special, aramid reinforcements to make the helmet particularly sturdy and lightweight. On impact, the extremely robust reinforcements evenly distribute the energy over the entire helmet to reduce the impact on the brain.
CFD:
To optimise the helmet’s ventilation, extensive CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulations and analyses were carried out to enable ideal ventilation.
RECCO:
The reflector sends and receives radar signals to help first responders locate your position. This allows for a faster rescue when crashing seriously in remote areas.
FIDLOCK:
Strong, built-in magnets allow for easy fastening and secure locking. The fastener can be operated with just one hand.
