The Schwalbe Green Marathon proves that recycling is compatible with proven tyre quality. Being a pioneer in puncture protection, mileage and environmental friendliness, the proven city and touring tyre has become even more sustainable in the ”green” version.  Production with Fairtrade rubber under the Fair Rubber label contributes to improving the working and living conditions of producers. The tyre is almost completely free of pollutants and consists of almost three quarters recycled and renewable materials. For the black-coloured soot, Schwalbe uses products made from recycled bike tyres.

The inner values of the high-quality touring tyre are also green. The 3 mm thick GreenGuard insert is made of highly elastic natural rubber to which about a third of recycled latex products are added. The enduring running properties are not affected by this. The sidewall carcass with the ECO rubber compound can even withstand the typical overload caused by insufficient air pressure significantly longer.  All Green Marathon models are e-bike ready, i.e. they can be used on all types of pedelecs (E-25). The standard tyre sizes are even tested and approved for e-bikes up to 50 km/h, also called S-Pedelecs (E-50).
