The PARANUS MIPS bike helmet from ALPINA is the ideal helmet for your bike tour or hybrid adventure. With its classic sporty design and streamlined visor, this bike helmet is ideal for touring and trekking. The HI-EPS in combination with MIPS and RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX ensures a high level of comfort and safety. In the event of a fall with an angled collision, MIPS helps to reduce the rotational forces acting on the head, while the Run system ensures an optimum fit of the helmet on the head. Thanks to INMOLD manufacturing, the helmet is very lightweight. During this process, the upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS. This results in a solid connection that ensures a very stable construction and lightness. Large vents for a cool head at all times round off the features of this hybrid helmet perfectly.

Highlights & Technologies:
RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX MIPS:
This clever fitting system combines the proven MIPS impact protection with an individual, smooth and height-adjustable fit for your head.
WHAT IS MIPS?
MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a slip-plane system within the helmet. It is designed to rotate inside the helmet and thus slow down or reduce the impact energy acting on the brain, which helps reduce head injuries caused by rotational impacts.
WHY IS MIPS IMPORTANT?
When a head rotates quickly and comes to a sudden stop, the rotational acceleration may cause the brain tissue to experience high levels of strain. This stretching of the tissue caused by these motions may result in various types of brain injury. MIPS is designed with the intent to address rotational acceleration from impact.
HOW DOES MIPS WORK?
MIPS uses a slip-plane system that moves inside the helmet, mimicking the brain’s own protection system. This layer is designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow down or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head. Science tells us that if we can reduce the strains associated with rotational acceleration, we might reduce the risk and severity of brain injury.
INMOLD:
The liner is fused with the outer shell under high pressure and strong heat for a lasting connection. This makes the helmet very robust and lightweight.
CERAMIC SHELL:
A break- and scratch-resistant polycarbonate outer shell that is pressed onto an Hi-EPS body under high pressure and with intense heat. It’s UV-resistant and antistatic.
HI-EPS:
The inner shell is made from High Expanded Polystyrene with numerous microscopic air chambers that absorb impact energy in case of a collision.
EDGE PROTECT:
Sharp edges are eliminated during the manufacturing process in order to protect your hands when using the helmet as well as to effectively protect your neck and shoulders in case of an impact.
ERGOMATIC:
The strap closure with a red press button and a multi-step ratchet mechanism can be operated with one hand only. It won’t become loose in case of a fall.
