The SRAM RED 12-/13-speed Flattop™ chain is more than just a gradual improvement.
The resourceful engineers of the traditional US manufacturer have managed to make the already lightest chain in the SRAM range even lighter! And without compromising on durability.
This is achieved using the tried-and-tested HollowPin™ design in combination with cut-outs in the outer and inner plates, which can reduce the weight by up to 13 grams (Note: Compared to the previous version, depending on the chain length!)
 
The Flattop™ technology allows for a narrower and less noisy bicycle chain that offers increased tensile strength and durability. Hard Chrome™ inner plates and rollers and nickel-plated outer plates ensure precise and fast gear changes.
