To improve contact with the teeth of the chainrings, SHIMANO has developed the XTR CN-M9100 HG+ chain especially for the 12-speed chainrings.
The bevelled shape of the slightly extended, narrow inner plates on the alternating tooth profiles significantly reduces the noise level and vibrations. The chain is thus guided centrally over the teeth of the chainrings and sprockets, which ensures less friction and thus optimised performance. In addition to the constructive shaping, the chrome and SIL-TEC coatings also contribute to the excellent gliding characteristics and durability.
