Yet, it’s not only the aggressive design with anodized aluminium surfaces that clearly shows that the 12-speed rear derailleur is geared towards XC, Marathon and Enduro. During the development phase, Shimano also aimed to achieve maximum acceleration and speed, as well as low power losses. Bigger 13 teeth guide and tension pulleys ensure secure chain travel in all gears. Together with the Shimano Shadow RD+ Design with friction stabilizer, they improve chain stabilization. Thus, the chain of the singlespeed RD-M9100 version smoothly runs through the version with medium cage (10-45 teeth) or long cage (10-51 teeth). Mountain bike racers will appreciate the short, crisp shifting for smooth propulsion.
